Due to stringent environmental specifications, Coal Tar Epoxy was not an option for this project. The sheet piles were originally specified to Marine Grade A-690, but this was impractical due to extended mill lead times, and minimum tonnages required by the mills to roll specialty grades.

Murtech, Inc called on J.D. Fields to offer a solution that was aesthetically pleasing, durable, and could meet the tight constraints dictated by the schedule. JDF’s and their engineering team went to work on the design and came up with the idea of offering Gr 60 Sheet piles from stock, and had the sheet Hot Dipped Galvanized.
